The new Deepsea is only cosmetic changes compared to the well-known ref. 116660. D-Blue received a gradient blue and black dial, and the name Fake Rolex was used green, referring to the color of James Cameron's ship, in which the famous director descended to a depth of over 10,000m.
An announcement of a new diver appeared on the Rolex website a few days ago. The part of the envelope visible in the graphics revealed that it was Deepsea, but the lack of a full view sparked an avalanche of speculations about changes that would affect the A.D. version. 2023.
Just before midnight Polish time, a model called Deepsea D-Blue was officially shown - with a dial on which the blue tonally turns to black. Unfortunately, people on discussion forums were not kind - they expected more than just color changes on the dial. Meanwhile, neither the bracelet, nor the bezel, nor the case, nor the mechanism have been modified in relation to the recently tested Oyster Perpetual Sea-Dweller Deepsea model.
Rolex has decided to present a new version of the Deepsea diver in conjunction with the premiere of the National Geographic film "DEEPSEA CHALLENGE 3D", which took place in New York's Hall of Ocean Life at the American Museum of Natural History. The film tells the replica watches story of the expedition of the famous explorer and director James Cameron to the Challenger Deep - the deepest area in the Mariana Trench. According to the manufacturer, "the tonal transition on the dial resembles the twilight zone of the ocean - the area where the last trickle of light from the surface disappears into the abyss." In turn, the DEEPSEA inscription on the dial is green - just like Cameron's boat, which accompanied him during his descent into the water.
